This week on the podcast we tackle one of my world famous breakdowns of a visual medium piece over the audio waves (AKA – A commercial breakdown podcast). The big winner in this shot was the Dedolight Panaura Octobox.
Worked a treat in a really small space.

Great pod, I have a couple questions for you about it:
– why shoot at 40fps and why shoot at 144 degree shutter?
I feel like I’ve seen the 144 degree shutter on a lot of BTS stills from various commercials, curious your reasoning for doing it as opposed to 180 degree?

144 degree at a framerate of 40fps results in a shutter of 1/100sek which equals the 90 degree at 25fps. Because in Australia house power is running at 50Hz you need to set your shutter to fit that frequency to avoid flickering in the lights.
