We interrupt the regularly scheduled programming to put out a show on the recent release of Midjourney (an A.I. based text to image Discord Bot) that is opening the door to the future of image making.
After dipping my toe in the water I was blown away by what this program and it's user base says about where cinematography might be going in the future. I am not sure how big a role it will play but it is safe to say it won't be zero.
I thought it would be fun to create a time stamp episode so I could share my initial reactions so I will be able to look back and see how poorly I was able to anticipate the power of a tool like this.
Enjoy!
Advanced Cinematography: Location Lighting
I told you a new course was coming and it's finally here.
It has been awesome hearing feedback from everyone that has already sped through the content and I am excited it has been as well received as it has.
In the new course I introduce my method for approaching cinematography from the most basic level and lay out each decision along the way. When I think about the work I break every possible scenario into one of 5 buckets and go from there.
Doing so allows me to focus more time on what I can do and less on what is not as effective. In this latest course we go over one of these 5 scenarios and I explain how I use a system to allow me to deliver the best results.
If you are interested in seeing the evolution of my approach to cinematography I highly suggest you check it out:
Patreon Breakdown - A Most Violent Year
I know I mentioned on the podcast I was going to do a second look at Lisey's Story this week but as I was searching through my archive I came across A Most Violent Year and then I couldn't recall if I had done this film before.
After a little searching on Patreon I was getting any results so I decided to pull the ole switcharoo right at the last second because I love the look of this film. Hopefully supporters don't mind too much and we can do Lisey's Story next week.
