Today on the show we sit down with Australian cinematographer Marden Dean ACS to talk about his experience in the industry, learning to adapt to film life, and more.
Marden has a ton of experience in the commercial and the narrative world at is was a pleasure having him on the show to chat about his views on the job and how it is constantly evolving.
Be sure to check out a small sample of his work below.
A Cinematography System: The Playbook Approach
I told you a new course was coming and it's finally here.
It has been awesome hearing feedback from everyone that has already sped through the content and I am excited it has been as well received as it has.
In the new course I introduce my method for approaching cinematography from the most basic level and lay out each decision along the way. When I think about the work I break every possible scenario into one of 5 buckets and go from there.
Doing so allows me to focus more time on what I can do and less on what is not as effective. In this latest course we go over one of these 5 scenarios and I explain how I use a system to allow me to deliver the best results.
If you are interested in seeing the evolution of my approach to cinematography I highly suggest you check it out:
Patreon Breakdown - Slow Horses
This week over on Patreon we are doing another supporter request in the form of Slow Horses on Apple TV.
The picture above pretty much sums up my experience. Just kidding. IT is interesting to compare something like Slow Horses with a piece like Lisey's Story last week so no better time than now to jump in and see the subtly differences that lead to vastly different results.
