In this week's episode we discuss the preliminary results from the 2022 Cinematography Survey and try and pull some themes out of the responses. IT was an eye opening process seeing everyone who answered seriously and it helped to paint a more accurate picture of what the reality on the ground looks like for most of the listeners.

Cinematography Course: The Playbook Approach
I told you a new course was coming and it's finally here.
It has been awesome hearing feedback from everyone that has already sped through the content and I am excited it has been as well received as it has.
In the new course I introduce my method for approaching cinematography from the most basic level and lay out each decision along the way. When I think about the work I break every possible scenario into one of 5 buckets and go from there.
Doing so allows me to focus more time on what I can do and less on what is not as effective. In this latest course we go over one of these 5 scenarios and I explain how I use a system to allow me to deliver the best results.

Patreon Breakdown - Foxcatcher
We are revisiting an old favorite from way back in 2014 this week on the Patreon Breakdown.
Foxcatcher shot by Greig Fraser ASC is the go and it is as good as I originally remember it being. That is saying something because often as time goes by and knowledge increases it can be tough going back and liking things you were drawn to at an earlier point in your career.
Lots of great takeaways from this film around economical coverage, simplicity, and getting the basics right that really stood out to me on this viewing.
