We have cinematographer Eric Koretz back on the podcast this week to talk us through his latest work on the smash hit Ozark.
This series has been highlighted a few different times on the podcast for it's strong look throughout the seasons and Eric continued that tradition in the latest instalment.
Eric walks us through his workflow, what he does to get up to speed on a project of this size, and explains his techniques for continuing to stay motivated on longer projects.
It was great to sit down with him again and I hope you enjoy the show!
Advanced Cinematography: Location Lighting
If you want to expand your understanding of cinematography check out the latest course now available.
In the course I introduce my method for approaching cinematography from the most basic level and lay out each decision along the way. When I think about the work I break every possible scenario into one of 5 buckets and go from there.
Doing so allows me to focus more time on what I can do and less on what is not as effective. In this latest course we go over one of these 5 scenarios and I explain how I use a system to allow me to deliver the best results.
If you are interested in seeing the evolution of my approach to cinematography I highly suggest you check it out:
Patreon Breakdown - The Rover
Patreon video this week is a good one!
This 2014 film shot by Natasha Braier ASC ADF was a reference of mine for all of it's car interiors out in the scorching hot desert for the film I shot in 2019.
A great study in embracing the brutality of the environment you are in this film was a fun one to breakdown.
