This week on the show we are chatting with cinematographer James Kniest.

We had originally planned on talking about James' latest work on the film The Free Fall but as usual I got distracted and we ended up focusing on a broad number of issues and challenges in the production world for cinematographers.

I really enjoyed chatting with James and I hope you do as well.

Enjoy!

New Course - Coming Soon

Be on the look out over the next few weeks as I am just now in the process of finalizing the next piece of educational content for WDP.

This new course is going to focus more on shot sequences for certain scenarios and how to build sequences to make the image better.

I think the next phase in the understanding of cinematography and building on top of the Framework is going to help a ton of people become better DPs.  I still haven't come up with a name for the new system the course is based on but given my track record I am quite confident I will come up with something cringe enough by launch date.

Patreon Breakdown - Deep Water

On Patreon this week we are breaking down Deep Water shot by Eigil Bryld.

The main challenge that stuck out to me during the course of watching this film was just how tricky the locations were given the nature of the film.  White walls everywhere yet beautifully shaped and hopefully that means we can steal a little bit of that trickery they employed to make our own projects better.
